Break out the 80's ski gear, it's HOT DOG day!
It's that time of year again when all and sundry break out their retro 80's ski wear and bust onto the slopes with euro style skiing and flamboyance!
For those of you not familiar with Hot Dog day, it is a tradition in many Canadian resorts to dress up one day of the season in the most retro 80's ski gear you can find and strut your stuff on the mountain with old school technique and outdated equipment. Fernie is renowned for going all out on Hot Dog day and this year is no different!
In preparation for the event we at NONSTOP host a charity auction of a selection of 80's ski wear to our 11-week NONSTOPers, so that they can get out on the slopes and spread the 80's love! Check out the NONSTOP staff strutting their stuff in the cat walk arena!
The auction was a great success and the NONSTOPers really got in the charity spirit raising over $1400 for the Emily Brydon Foundation, a great charity based in Fernie that provides funding so that young people can take part in skiing and snowboarding, as well as other educational activities and arts.
A big thank you goes out to everyone who bid and donated money, our glamorous models and who could forget our very own Adam Guilfoyle (11-week course host), who did an excellent job as auctioneer and compare, whilst sporting a rather fetching 'onesie'.
You can be part of next season's antics! Check out our selection of ski and snowboard instructor courses and development and performance camps.
