Fernie Three Week Course - Week Three
It’s been an exciting few weeks as the late nights and early mornings started to take their toll. We had a few new arrivals rejuvenating everyone’s spirits. It is exam week along with Christmas, so there are plenty of nerves and excitement in equal measure...
Tuesday was the last day of exams which means Tuesday evening is another great excuse to celebrate in the Griz bar. Our guys have been pushing hard with tons of progress and huge success. Congrats to ALL for graduating to be CASI and CSIA Level 1 snowboard and ski instructors!
The new crew have been living up to the Nonstop reputation. Ripping up the slopes and adding to the après - although small in group size, large in atmosphere. Catered terrain selection and personal feedback forcing progression, coupled with private lessons with our lead snowboarder James Hyland - what an awesome combination. The boys tore up the mountain! Andy teamed up with skiers Malin, Neil, and Karim for a cat ski day at Fernie Wilderness Adventures, the perfect way to put their new skills into practice. Conditions were unreal for yet another unforgettable Fernie day.

The day before Christmas, Fernie was blessed with 37cms of Champagne Powder. Some feel it was the local snow gods praising us for our hard work. Our new arrivals felt they could take some credit as they brought the snow storm. Either way, another typical Fernie Christmas, filled with lots of snow and tons of smiles all around town. The Fernie Factor! Our Fernie Nonstop Family had our first Nonstop Christmas Dinner at the Red Tree Lodge. A traditional turkey dinner, lots of cocktails and secret Santa gift exchanges - perfect.

The course was wrapped up with an avalanche awareness day before we set the gang loose to settle in as Fernie local residents for the rest of the season. It’s a great feeling when one of our courses finishes and our clients check out of the Red Tree but have no plans on leaving town. We’ll see everyone soon. Thanks for an unforgettable start to the season!
