10 Xmas Stocking Fillers Every Skier Will Love

With Christmas approaching and winter in full flow, we give you our top 10 stocking filler ideas for any ski or snowboard fanatic. Sure to put a smile on the face of any powder hound.

1. Boot Glove

There’s nothing worse than cold feet when you’re on the ski hill. These neoprene boot gloves fit over the front of your boots and add an extra layer of insulation between your feet and the snow, preventing moisture from getting inside your shell. They make a real difference on super cold days.

We like these ones from Dry Guy.

2. Sun Cream

Ok, a bit boring but often overlooked. The sun can be extremely strong in the mountains and often takes you by surprise. It’s no fun having a sore and peeling nose, so having sun cream to hand is important. Choose a high SPF and one that is small enough to fit in your pocket.

Try this mountain-specific sun cream.

3. Inner Gloves

We’ve dealt with the cold feet, now to tackle cold hands. Silk inner gloves are thin enough to fit inside almost all ski gloves and will really help to keep your fingers warm. The natural fibres regulate heat and are breathable too. Inners with ‘e-tip’ fingers are ideal so you can use your phone without baring your naked hands to the elements.

Check out these e-tip inner gloves by The North Face.

4. Helmet with Speakers

If you’re feeling more generous, then splashing out on a helmet with built-in speakers will no doubt be well received. Who doesn’t love listening to music as they glide down a powder drenched mountain?

Here's a popular helmet with audio from Salomon.

5. Disposable Hand Warmers

For those bitterly cold days, shoving some disposable hand warmers inside your gloves can save you from an early hot tub. They will stay warm for around 8 hours which means you can enjoy the snow for longer. Having a big stash ready to use will serve you well.

These disposable hand warmers will keep those cold hands at bay.

6. Action Cam Accessories

Lots of us skiers and snowboarders will have a GoPro or similar action cam and attach it to our helmets. For a different angle on those pow shots, how about a pole? Even better for skiers, get a pole mount that you can attach to your ski pole directly, reducing the amount of kit you need to carry.

Check out this versatile pole from GoPro.

7. Ski/Snowboard Tuning Equipment

Anyone who owns their own skis or board will appreciate being able to maintain it themselves. It’s a satisfying feeling to wax and tune your own gear and a great bonding experience with your kit. There are lots of tuning kits out there varying massively in contents and price. Look for ones that include: wax, scraper, brush and edge sharpener.

Here's a great starter tuning kit.

8. Mountain Snacks

When you’re out on the ski hill, snacks are essential. If it’s a powder day you won’t want to waste time stopping to refuel. Having some snacks to tuck in to on the chairlift will mean you can keep going. Some of our favourites include energy gels and snack size bars!

These Cliff bars are perfect for all adventures.

9. Water Bottle

It’s important to keep hydrated when you’re on the mountain. Having to hand a well-insulated water bottle you can keep in your backpack, or a small bottle that slots into your jacket, will mean you can stay hydrated throughout the day (and be ready to hit après ski later).

At Nonstop we use the Mizu bottles.

10. Hip Flask

Not that we condone drinking on the slopes, but a sneaky swig from a hip flask is one sure way to keep warm. There are some great snow related designs too which make it a perfect stocking filler.

We love this ski themed hip flask.
