Overview

Join us for this unforgettable Tour + Explore Backcountry Camp in the stunning Serre Chevalier valley, nestled in the heart of the French Alps. Over seven jam-packed days, youll immerse yourself in some of the region's most iconic and remote terrain, all while receiving expert coaching and guidance to help take your skiing and touring to the next level.

The first two days of the camp are spent exploring Serre Chevalier, where you'll refine your all-mountain skills through sidecountry-focussed coaching, accessed via boot-packs, traverses and small tours. After that, we head to nearby La Grave to ski one of the worlds most fabled off-piste locations, known for its steep, rugged slopes.

The final three days and the highlight of the week offer a true backcountry immersion at the Refuge du Chardonnet. From this picturesque refuge where youll eat, sleep and hang out, well embark on daily ski touring missions in search of the best snow, conditions and descents. Along the way, you'll hone your touring techniques, receive tips for navigating backcountry terrain, and enjoy plenty of off-grid vertical.

This camp is for adventurous, experienced skiers ready to step beyond sidecountry laps. You’re confident on skins, know your gear, and have a few missions behind you. Now, you're looking to ride steeper terrain, move more efficiently, and go deeper in the backcountry. With expert guides, a focus on skill development, and small group of like-minded people, you'll return home with newfound confidence in your abilities and unforgettable memories from the journey.

Resort

A hidden freeride gem of the Alps, Serre Chevalier is one of the largest resorts in Europe, with beautiful tree skiing and wild off-piste, set within a valley of charming alpine villages.

Situated in the Southern Alps of France, the ski area is colossal with 250km of slopes and 80 marked runs. For us, there’s big freeride potential with everything from powdery bowls, larch forests, untamed off-piste, and wild backcountry routes.

Serre Chevalier comprises four main villages: Briançon, Le Monêtier, Chantemerle and Villeneuve, as well as other smaller local hamlets. Each unique, but traditionally French and historic, cosy bars and restaurants are home to a laid-back après ski vibe. Easily move between villages via a shuttle, to explore their local history, shops and character.

Coaching

Throughout the week, you'll receive top tier coaching to elevate your skiing and touring abilities. Our expert coaches will provide personalised feedback to help you refine your technique, build touring skills, and boost your confidence in challenging terrain, all while soaking up the French Alps.

Sessions

The camp features two resort-based coaching days to sharpen your all-mountain skills. Equipped with touring and avalanche gear, well use the lift-system to access sidecountry terrain via boot-packs, traverses and small tours. The goal is to get in the flow for the week, enjoy technique tips, as well as familiarise with equipment, touring and avalanche protocols.

La Grave

The adventure ramps up with a day at the legendary La Grave, one of the worlds most fabled and challenging freeride destinations. Steeped in alpine history, La Grave offers rugged, raw terrain that will put your skills to the test. With expert guidance, youll gain confidence and experience skiing some of the most untamed slopes in the Alps.

Refuge du Chardonnet

The finale of the week is a three-day, two-night, off-grid backcountry experience at the Refuge du Chardonnet, a remote but welcoming mountain hut. This idyllic refuge offers a perfect base to explore the region's best backcountry terrain. Each day, you’ll be led on exhilarating ski tours through untouched alpine landscapes, tackling everything from open powder bowls to technical descents, with valuable tips and tricks on your touring and skiing throughout. In the evenings, retreat to the cosy refuge, where you can share stories, unwind, and fully immerse in the unique sense of adventure that comes with being deep in the Alps.
