Over 12 action packed weeks in the surf capital of Morocco’s, Taghazout, you will take the ASI surf instructor course and the SLS lifeguarding course. You will also get to ride some of the best waves available each and every day! Experience Moroccan culture and give something back to the local community by volunteering with community projects. You can teach English to local children and adults and even improve your own French language skills.
Ideal for anyone on career breaks or gap years, looking for a fulfilling and one-off life experience. Even with a heavy surf focus, previous experience isn’t compulsory; we will train anyone from beginners right up to advanced surfers.
Don’t be misled by the relaxed vibe of the surf lifestyle. This is a demanding and challenging sport with a less steep learning curve than most other extreme sports. You will need to have a reasonable level of fitness and a can-do attitude to push on even when the going gets tough. We are confident that even if you have no surf experience, if you are keen to be learn, we can move you from Zero to Hero.
During the course you'll be living in a French speaking Muslim country in Africa. Volunteering on community projects and spending time living with a Berber family opens your eyes to a new world. It also give you a first hand view of life in Africa and the Muslim world.
The course is located in and around the village of Taghazout in south sest Morocco. Over the last ten years Taghazout has earned a reputation as the best winter surf destination within a short flight distance of Europe. No surprise then that Kelly Slater has been surfing there in when he got some down time from the ASP tour.
Often you will spend time around the Taghazout surf camp, right on top of Hash Point, one of its most well known surf spots. The surfing line-up in the area is truly unebelievable, with both simple learner beach breaks and world class point breaks, all along just a 15km stretch of coastline.
