It’s the end of Week 10 here in Fernie and, as usual, we’ve been kept super busy both on and off the slopes!
With the awesome Tom as our instructor, and with a fresh dump of powder midweek, we charged all over the Hill in search of fresh lines and fun. In preparation for our Ski-X competition next week we even put in a few practice laps on the Monster Energy course that had been left behind last week. I can tell you from hard-won experience that a top tip is to make sure you’re in first place by the first corner or absolute carnage will ensue!

Wednesday evening was the ‘Retro Ski-wear Fashion Show’ and was… quite the spectacle. Countless amazing pieces of 80’s ski wear, along with other choice items (including a wedding dress!), were modeled by none other than our very own Nonstop instructors. The grace, sass, and unwavering confidence shown by some of the models was astounding and reminiscent of the very best that Milan and Paris have had to offer. Others were… less convincing, but doubly as hilarious. Each item was auctioned off in preparation for the 80’s ski day on Saturday, with all the profits going to some great causes. I was lucky enough to win a rather special two piece bright yellow suit as well as an iridescent purple jacket with huge shoulder pads. All items sized ‘Ladies Small’…
With the end of the course quickly coming into sight, many of us skied and partied hard this week. The thought of having to leave this all behind is not a happy one. Still, one more week to go, so bring on Week 11!
We look forward to speaking with you.
