5 reasons to visit the London Ski & Snowboard Festival

From film premiers to big air demos, find out why you should come along to the UK's only snow sports festival. (4 min read)

The UK’s only ski show – The Telegraph Ski & Snowboard Festival – is returning to the heart of London in Battersea Park on 24-27 October 2019, and for many snowsports fanatics this marks the official onset of winter.

From a huge kicker, to film premieres, inspirational talks, innovative brands and a skate ramp, the festival-style event is the perfect place to get pumped, inspired and ready for the upcoming snow season. Nonstop will be in attendance to meet and chat with past and future guests, but here are a few other reasons to come along.

Marvel over Mount Battersea

Dominating the festival landscape, Mount Battersea will once again erupt into life. From style sessions to big air competitions, the al fresco, 50ft kicker with real snow will play launchpad to some of the UK’s best ski and snowboard freestyle athletes.

Soak up the atmosphere and watch the riders lay it on the line with epic demos of their skills. Probably the best place to hang out at the festival. You might even get inspired to set your own snow goals this season and join one of our all-mountain camps.

There’ll also be avalanche training sessions at the base of the kicker for budding backcountry explorers. Sessions lasting 45 minutes will take you through essential mountain skills and how to use a transceiver.

The après scene

The festival is set to bring slopeside après right to heart of London. With winter-themed street food, après bars open till late on Friday and Saturday, plus DJ-sets and live music, what more could you desire as an escape from the city and prelude to winter.

Grab your mates and glass of gluhwein or jagertee, swap stories of your on-snow exploits, and sip and dance away overlooking Mount Battersea. If last year is anything to go by, the après festivities will all but take you to the mountains.
