Experience Banff's immense ski area and legendary party town. Banff has a drinking age of 18, so is an ideal destination for young people. Join the first part of our renowned 11 week program, improving your skiing and teaching skills ready for your CSIA Level 1 exam in week 4.
There are three ski areas linked to Banff: Sunshine Village, Lake Louise and Mount Norquay. Each has its own unique characteristics. We are the only company that operates in all three of these resorts, so you'll get a varied and well rounded training experience.
You'll have the biggest combined ski area in North America at your feet. Banff is known for excellent early-season conditions. Being slightly further North than most resorts, the temperature stays low enough to maintain a good base of snow for a long season.
Our team are the very best CSIA Level 3 and 4 instructors in the Bow Valley. As well as being supremely qualified, Nonstop's coaches in Banff are a load of fun and incredible at what they do.
Within just a few of weeks, they'll have you ripping up the slopes of Banff with the confidence and tightly honed technique of a pro. They'll also show you how to teach others in preparation for your CSIA Level 1 exam in week 4.
Regardless of whether you intend to instruct or not, this is an awesome experience. Our coaches will be on the slopes with you for five hours per day, four days a week, helping you to break through the boundaries of your skiing.
We find that learning to teach is the very best way to progress your own skills. By analysing the routes of ski technique, you'll be able to turn that knowledge on yourself and take your own skiing to a whole new level.
Living in an epic town and national park, it would be rude not to enjoy some of the amazing winter activities on offer. Our MORE program is full of weekend activities and courses that'll ensure you get the most out of your time in Canada.
Go cat-skiing, take an avalanche course, visit other resorts, go ice climbing, watch ice hockey, go dog sledding, snowmobiling or night skiing. These are some of the experiences on offer, but check which activities will be available during your time in Banff.
Banff town centre of is a real highlight. It's filled with restaurants, shops, bars and clubs and is famous for its lively night life.
Irwin's Inn is in the perfect location, just five minutes' walk from the centre. It's the essence of comfort and convenience, with great en-suite rooms, cable TV, Wifi and access to a gym, hot tub and swimming pool.
You'll receive 20 hours coaching per week over four days. Your days off are for free skiing, consolidating what you've learnt and other activities. The maximum group size is 8 people per pro but typically they are even smaller.
You have the option of staying at Irwin's Mountain Inn, or in a triple room at the Red Carpet Inn. You'll have access to all the facilities at Irwin's Mountain Inn, including:
You'll be treated to a hearty breakfast at El Toro five days per week. Options include coffee/tea, juices, cereals, toast, pastries, yogurt, fruit, as well as hot items like eggs, beans, sausages, hash browns or bacon.
Enjoy a nutritionally balanced & filling meal at El Toro four evenings a week.
You'll be given a season lift pass to all three of Banff's resorts for the duration of your stay.
We provide airport transfers from and to Calgary Airport at set departure times.
We will provide transfers at the following times:
Start date of course: meet the transfer at Calgary Airport at 5pm, opt for a flight that lands before 3:30pm.
End date of course: transfer will arrive at Calgary Airport by approx. 1:30pm, opt for a flight that departs after 4:30pm.
Daily shuttle to and from the slopes.
Included in the course price is your Level 1 exam fee, which is held in week 4.
Your host will ensure your course runs smoothly. They'll be on hand 24/7 for a chat, laugh, or to solve any problems.
You'll get a 90 minute private coaching session during the course before your Level 1.
Throughout the program our coaches will make the most of technical video analysis to help with your development.
Throughout the course we run regular technical talks on subjects like biomechanics, looking after your gear, and injury prevention.
You'll be given an 'Instructor Starter Kit' booklet with a directory of ski school contacts, receive a seminar on 'Working as an Instructor', and be given constant advice from our coaches.
Each week your host will organise team socials and après for all the group to get involved in.
You'll be able to get involved with tons of winter activities and experiences during your time with us, from cat skiing to exploring the hot springs.
