Experience Banff's massive ski area and legendary party town. Join in with the first part of our legendary 11 week program, improving your snowboarding and teaching skills ready for your CASI Level 1 exam in week 5.
There are three separate ski areas linked to Banff: Sunshine Village, Lake Louise and Mount Norquay, each with their own unique characteristics. We are the only company that operates in all three resorts, so you'll get a well rounded training experience, with the largest combined ski area in North America to explore.
Banff is renowned for fantastic early-season conditions. Being a bit further North than most resorts, the temperature stays low enough to maintain a good base of snow for a long season.
Our team are the very best CASI Level 3 and 4 instructors in the Bow Valley. As well as being extremely well qualified, Nonstop's coaches in Banff are a load of fun and amazing at what they do.
Within just a few of weeks, they'll have you ripping up the slopes of Banff with the confidence and tightly honed technique of a pro. They'll also teach you how to instruct others in preparation for your CASI Level 1 exam in week 5.
Regardless of whether you plan to instruct or not, this is an amazing experience. Our coaches will be on the hill with you for five hours a day, four days a week, helping you to push through the boundaries of your riding.
We find that learning to instruct is the very best way to progress your own skills. By analysing the routes of snowboarding technique, you'll be able to turn that knowledge on yourself and take your riding to a whole new level.
Living in stunning national park, it would be rude not to enjoy some of the amazing winter activities on your doorstep. Our MORE program is full of weekend activities and courses that'll ensure you get the most out of your time in Canada.
Go cat boarding, take an avalanche course, visit other resorts, go ice climbing, watch ice hockey, go dog sledding, snowmobiling or night skiing. Just some of the things you might get up to...
Our accommodation at Irwin's Inn is in the perfect location, just five minutes' walk from the centre of Banff. It's the essence of comfort and convenience, with large en-suite rooms, cable TV, WIFI and access to a gym, hot tub and swimming pool. If you're intending to stay and work for the rest of the season, we also have a full season-long accommodation option in centrally located shared houses.
You'll receive 20 hours coaching per week over four days. Your days off are for free skiing, consolidating what you've learnt and other activities. The maximum group size is 8 people per pro but typically they are even smaller.
You'll be treated to a continental breakfast at El Toro five days per week.
Enjoy a hearty meal at El Toro four evenings a week.
You'll be given a season lift pass to all three of Banff's resorts for the duration of your stay.
If you arrive with the group flight (or land before), you can join the Nonstop transfer to the resort. All your transport within the resort is taken care of, just don't forget your gear.
Included in the course price is your Level 1 exam fee, which is held in week 5.
Your host will ensure your course runs smoothly. They'll be on hand 24/7 for a chat, laugh, or to solve any problems.
You'll get a 90 minute private coaching session during the course before your Level 1.
Throughout the program our coaches will make the most of technical video analysis to help with your development.
Throughout the course we run regular technical talks on subjects like biomechanics, looking after your gear, and injury prevention.
You'll be given an 'Instructor Starter Kit' booklet with a directory of ski school contacts, receive a seminar on 'Working as an Instructor', and be given constant advice from our coaches.
Each week your host will organise team socials and après for all the group to get involved in.
You'll be able to get involved with tons of winter activities and experiences during your time with us, from cat skiing to exploring the hot springs.
You'll have the opportunity to gain the following additional qualifications:
