Full Course Story 4 Weeks in Les 2 Alpes, France

This is a focused, full-throttle course built for fast progression, deep turns, and next-level snowboarding. Over four action-packed weeks in Les 2 Alpes, you’ll train for your BASI Level 1 alongside some of Europe’s best coaches, riding everything from glacier groomers to off-piste steeps.

With daily coaching, you’ll sharpen your technical riding, learn how to teach beginners, and build the confidence to pass your Level 1 exam in the final week. It’s a full-immersion into instructor training — without needing to commit to a full season.

But this course isn’t all work and no play. Off the slopes, you’ll dive into life in one of the Alps’ most vibrant mountain towns. With a packed lineup of après, experiences like parapenting, and group hang outs, it’s four weeks of living the good life with a tight crew of riders.

Whether you’re setting up a gap year, planning a future career in the snow, or just want to level up with structure and stoke — this is where it starts.

Here’s how your month in Les 2 Alpes will go down. This is a guideline itinerary – but expect fast progression, huge terrain, and good times.

Touch down in the Alps and get straight into it. After meeting your new crew and exploring town, we hit the slopes. This week is about finding your rhythm, learning the layout of the mountain, and starting to build strong technique. We’ll break down your riding, introduce BASI’s core teaching concepts, and begin setting the foundation for your Level 1. Expect video feedback, drills and your first taste of what it means to be an instructor. Off the mountain, soak up L2A’s epic après – beers, DJs, and big mountain energy.

This is where the technical riding and teaching focus ramps up. We’ll break down key BASI principles and build your confidence in delivering mini lessons. You’ll work through a mix of terrain while developing precise demos, personal performance, and teaching flow. It’s a packed week of progression, supported by feedback, coaching, and snow time with your crew.

Now it’s all about polishing your technique and building consistency. You’ll dive deeper into BASI’s teaching framework and practice your delivery through real-time scenarios. We’ll fine-tune your skills with personalised feedback and push your performance across steeper slopes and varied snow. You’re ready.

Time to earn that badge. The BASI Level 1 exam spans five days of focused assessment on both riding and teaching. It’s intense, supportive, and a whole lot of fun. With solid preparation behind you, you’ll be more than ready – and celebrating with a huge Level 1 party by the end of the week. Congrats, you’re officially an instructor!

Les 2 Alpes is one of Europe’s highest and oldest resorts, linked to off-piste paradise La Grave. Situated in the Massif des Ecrins, the ski area is split into 7 sectors, featuring the largest skiable glacier in Europe, a revered terrain park, plus freeride zone Le Fee. Rising to 3,600m on the Mont de Lans glacier, the slopes are snow-sure, descending to 1,300m for a 2,300m vertical drop.

L2A’s high altitude ensures great snow coverage across the mountain. The resort isn’t known for its powder with around 3 metres of snowfall per season but, like any mountain in the Alps, when the powder Gods are on your side, the days can be epic and there’s plenty of vertical for long powder laps.

Located at 1,650m, L2A’s main village is friendly and lively, with many shops, bars and restaurants to spend your time off the slopes. Deux Alps sits on a high plateau in the valley, known by locals as ‘le plateau’, with a buzzing alpine energy that runs through the streets. The après is big and the traditional village of Venosc provides a pleasant contrast.

For seasonaire life, the vibe is buzzing and the après scene is one of the most vibrant in the Alps. L2A is a party resort, renowned for its mountain-top après at the Pano Bar. L2A also plays host to music festival Rise, which takes place in December each season, bringing together DJs and people from around the world for wild celebrations.

Each week features five full coaching days, mixing technical riding drills with practical teaching prep. From carving on the glacier to navigating steeps and variable snow, you’ll get detailed feedback and support across a range of terrain. The vibe? Focused progression, good energy, and fun on the hill.

We keep things tight with ability-matched groups — max 10 riders per coach — so you get plenty of personal attention and a close-knit team dynamic. You’ll ride hard, improve fast, and form strong bonds with your group.

You’ll train with experienced BASI Level 4 ISTDs. These coaches are dialled into the BASI system and passionate about progression. They’ll challenge you, support you, and get you exam-ready with no shortcuts — just solid technique and deep knowledge.

You’ll be working toward your BASI Level 1 qualification — a five-day assessment delivered by BASI at the end of the course. It’s your gateway into teaching beginners, and your first step into the global instructor community. We’ll make sure you’re ready.
