Which ski instructor qualification is best? +
The right qualification for you depends on your goals — and where in the world you’d like to teach. The most popular systems are CSIA/CASI (Canada), BASI (UK), and NZSIA (New Zealand). Each offers an internationally respected pathway with solid global recognition and strong job prospects.
All offer an achievable entry-level where you can begin working, while leaving plenty of room to progress toward the top tiers, which are set to a very high standard. And don’t worry — you’re never pigeonholed into one system. It’s common to cross over between associations as your career and travel plans evolve.
Your Guide to Ski Instructor Qualifications: The Need-To-Know
Which Nonstop instructor course is for me? +
We run three flagship courses across Canada and France — in Fernie, Banff, and Les 2 Alpes. Each has its own flavour, so the right one for you comes down to the kind of season you want. Weigh up big features like the terrain you’ll ride, snow history, après scene and activities on offer, as well as qualifications and culture.
If you’re a powder hound chasing deep days and progression in a small, authentic mountain town, Fernie is the one — Canadian quals included. If you want varied riding with three resorts on your doorstep, plus a party scene that goes as hard as the skiing, Banff ticks the box. And if your dream is a Euro season — think British qualifications, glacier laps, and a buzzing alpine culture — Les 2 Alpes is calling.
Whichever way you go, you’ll get world-class coaching, a season of adventures, and a crew that feels like family by the end.
