Upgrade your qualification with our CSIA Level 2 ski instructor course. By converting your Level 1 to Level 2, you'll be far more employable in ski schools around the world. Fernie is the ideal location to ramp up your qualifications, with five massive bowls varied terrain, amazing tree runs, and gullies, drops and banks galore.
Fernie Alpine Resort has so much going for it; there really isn't a better place to train for your CSIA Level 2. It combines five bowls each with a massive amount of ungroomed "steep and deep" terrain, making this a great place to train and will lead to a super steep progression curve.
Average snowfall is unbelievable and makes it Canada's "home of legendary powder"! The fun doesn't stop off the mountain. This traditional Canadian town has a welcoming and friendly vibe, while the bustling bars and restaurants of downtown Fernie are always great for a night out.
Nonstop are renowned globally for producing excellent CSIA Level 2 ski instructors. We do that by providing an amazing experience for those on our courses.
Over six weeks, you'll get focussed training and direction from the most respected instructors in the business. Your all-mountain skiing technique will massively improve, as you spend every day exploring the epic terrain of Fernie Alpine Resort.
For CSIA Level 2 you will need to demonstrate a high level of skill while skiing a variety of terrain and snow conditions. You'll also need to demonstrate and teach to intermediate skiers; so you'll have a good technical understanding of skiing and the ability to plan and deliver lessons.
Fear not though - our instructors will spend six weeks working on your technique, while you have fun skiing the best terrain in Fernie, and teach you how to pass on these highly refined skills.
Admittedly a lot of your time will be spent in Fernie's amazing ski area, but we will also help you to squeeze in so much more into your six weeks. We will arrange technical sessions and social events in the evenings, including trips to the local curling rink or ice hockey matches.
You will also be able to join an avalanche safety course as well as a day cat-skiing making fresh tracks in the backcountry.
Our group coaching sessions will develop your own skiing and prepare you for your CSIA Level 2 exam. Group coaching sessions are typically Mon, Tue, Thu and Fri, except on your arrival week when we'll schedule two semi-private sessions to warm you up before you join participants participating on our 11 week course. On the weeks when we schedule the CSIA module (1 day) or CSIA Training course (2 days) or Assessed Training course (2 days) the timetable will also differ. Usually, Wednesdays and the weekends are left free for free-skiing, consolidating what you've learnt and other activities. The maximum group size is 8 people per pro but typically they are even smaller.
