BASI L1 + 2 Snowboard Instructor Course

Welcome to the Alps. We’ll scoop you from Grenoble and head straight to the mountains. After meeting the crew and getting a lay of the land, it’s onto the slopes. The first two weeks are all about building a solid platform – we’ll break down your riding, dial in your technique, and get stuck into BASI teaching principles. Expect video analysis, mock scenarios, and a fast track to progress. Off the hill, you’ll get to know the après spots that L2A is famous for – think live DJs, mountain beers, and big energy.

Training intensifies. We’ll dial in your performance and teaching skills, with increasingly technical terrain and mock teaching scenarios. You’ll refine your demos, gain confidence leading sessions, and work on your movement analysis. With your Level 1 coming up, we’ll be running through everything you need to crush it.

The BASI Level 1 exam and first step on the ladder. The five-day assessment is equal parts challenge and buzz. You’ll refine your riding and demonstrate your ability to teach beginner lessons. It’s a milestone moment – and we’ll mark it with a Level 1 party with your crew and coaches.

Now we kick it up a gear. You’ll train hard on dynamic performance and control, while developing your teaching game with progressive on-snow sessions. We’ll mix it up with some freeride missions, laps through the snowpark, and off-piste days in nearby La Grave. L2A will feel like home now – from fresh pow lines to sunset après at Le Pano Bar. You’ll also tick off your first aid qualification.

With the BASI Level 2 in sight, it’s time to sharpen every aspect of your riding and teaching. You’ll join qualified instructors on the hill to complete shadowing hours and see real-world lessons in action. Expect detailed coaching, teaching practice, and personalised feedback to fine-tune your skills. You’ll also build backcountry confidence with avalanche training and a ski touring adventure to explore beyond the ropes.

The big one. The BASI Level 2 exam is split across two five-day blocks – a full-on fortnight of riding, teaching, workshops and feedback. You’ll need to bring everything together, but with the right prep, you’ll crush it. Pass and you’ll be qualified to teach around the world – from Japan to NZ. And to top it all off? An unforgettable end-of-season party with your Nonstop fam.
