CASI L2 Snowboard Instructor Course

Time to raise your game. We kick off with focused training on steeps, moguls, short turns, and all-mountain technique. You’ll deepen your understanding of high-level teaching skills and refine your riding across Fernie’s legendary terrain. One of the biggest highlights of the course — day of cat-boarding with Fernie Wilderness Adventures, accessing untouched powder via snowcat.

We double down with advanced coaching to fast-track your improvement. You’ll sharpen both your riding and teaching, with deeper dives into CSIA/CASI Level 2 methodology. There’s the chance to volunteer as a shadow instructor at a local hill — a solid boost for your experience and confidence. Optional freestyle training is also on the table, and we’ll mix in some off-snow adventures like fat biking and a classic Nonstop bonfire night in the woods.

We’re going all in. You’ll head out on a road trip to Castle Mountain, taking your skills to new terrain. Skiers complete two intensive prep modules for the CSIA Level 2 exam, each focused on both skiing and teaching development. Snowboarders will fine-tune their riding and lesson delivery ahead of their four-day assessment. You’ll can also take part in Nonstop’s winter camping experience – building and sleeping in your own igloo for a bucket-list night under the stars.

In the final week, it’s exam time. Skiers sit two days of assessment; snowboarders go four. Once you pass both riding and teaching components, you’ll be certified to teach internationally — from Canada to Japan, New Zealand to Switzerland. We cap it all off with a massive graduation party and send-off dinner to celebrate everything you’ve achieved.
