Gain your CASI Level 1 snowboard instructor qualification with enough time to focus on developing your own personal riding too. All set in the epic winter playground of Fernie, BC. Our coaches will transform you intro a big mountain rider with the style and elegance of an instructor.
Back in 2002 we picked Fernie as the HQ for Nonstop's snowboard instructor courses because of its amazing snow record, its huge and varied ski area, the quiet slopes and, just as importantly, the unique experience of living in Fernie's awesome mountain community.
Fernie typically sees over 10 meters of snow each season. You can expect to see 48cm on average each week - that's a whole heap of powder days! No matter what standard you are when you get there, the terrain will challenge you throughout the entire season.
It is the perfect place to massively develop your snowboarding skills. Over 100 happy people every season can't be wrong! In fact, our courses in Fernie are the most popular
Over a reasonably short time we will totally transform your technique and will have you confidently riding all the terrain on the hill, with the style and grace of an instructor. We established Nonstop in Fernie in 2002 and the majority of the team have been with us since the very start. Our team of committed and highly skilled CASI Level 3 and 4 coaches know exactly how to give you the ideal training experience.
Our 4 week instructor courses are a combination of snowboard improvement coaching and instructor training ensuring your personal riding develops and you're prepared for the instructor exam. Whether you're taking the course to develop your riding or to become and instructor, this is an awesome experience. With our team of expert coaches on the hill with you for five hours a day, four days a week, you will be able to achieve a level of riding you have previously only dreamed of.
By taking part in a snowboard instructor course you will focus on understanding the fundamentals of snowboarding technique. The end goal is being able to pass this knowledge on to others, but in the process you will also be developing your own ability and taking yourself to the next level.
Although you'll be spending a lot of time exploring Fernie's amazing alpine resort, there is still so much else that you can pack into your four weeks.
In the evenings we arrange technical sessions and plenty of social events, such as trips to see the local ice hockey team, and even the chance to try your hand at curling. Plus, we can also get you on an avalanche safety course and a cat boarding day where you will be able to make fresh tracks in the backcountry all day long.
You'll receive 20 hours coaching per week. Our full day coaching sessions are Mon, Tue, Thu and Fri, with Wednesdays and the weekends for free skiing, consolidating what you've learnt and other activities. The maximum group size is 8 people per pro but typically they are even smaller.
Stay in our very own Red Tree Lodge, with access to amazing facilities, including:
